NOTICE:

In compliance with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision in Senne v. Village of Palatine, 695F3d597 (7th Circuit, 2012), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (“DPPA”), 18 U.S.C. §2721 et.seq., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is no longer releasing personal information under the DPPA unless it falls under a permissible use. Personal information obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles, including an individual’s date of birth, drivers license number, social security number, home address, telephone number, photograph and medical or disability information is prohibited from disclosure unless one of the permissible uses applies. Permissible uses are listed in 18 U.S.C. 2721 (b).

Community Notification

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to WI Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense. Further, his criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects a low potential to re-offend.

Injury Crash
05/30/2021
On Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 3:43 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motorcycle crash in the curves on Pleasant Hill Rd just east of Slinger Rd in the Village of Richfield. The caller was an area resident who heard the crash from her home. The caller responded to the scene and observed a motorcycle crashed in the south ditch of Pleasant Hill Rd and the lone male operator laying approximately 15 feet south of the motorcycle in the tall grass. The caller advised that the operator was unconscious and bleeding from the head; the operator was not wearing a helmet.

Shed Fire
05/29/2021
On Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 5:35 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a shed fire at 3291 Pioneer Road in the Village of Richfield. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Richfield Fire Department responded to the scene. The caller stated a small shed on the property was fully engulfed in flames and that her husband had sustained burns to his upper body and face. The caller advised that her husband (a 69 year old Germantown resident) was able to exit the shed and nobody else was inside the structure.

Former Corrections Officer Phillip J. Marker

On May 19th, 2021 our agency was contacted by the Menomonee Falls Police Department about a death investigation they were conducting after responding to an apartment in the village to check the welfare of a subject. The police department was contacted on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:20 a.m. by a concerned family member. The police department made entry and located an adult female and adult male deceased of apparent gunshot wounds. Initial information provided by the Menomonee Falls Police Department indicated they were actively investigating the case, but not seeking any additional suspect(s) and there was no pending danger to the public.

Straight Truck Roll-Over Hwy 41 SB

On Monday 05/24/2021 at 3:05pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center began taking calls of a straight box truck on its side in the median of Hwy 41 SB just south of Hwy 60. Initial calls stated that the vehicle was potentially on fire. Upon the arrival of law enforcement on scene, the vehicle was found to not be on fire and any smoke was likely from the refrigerator unit on the cargo box of the truck. Another passenger vehicle was also found to have been struck in the accident.

Interstate 41 Injury Crash 21-17025

On Friday May 21, 2021 at 5:57am the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls reporting a car vs motorcycle crash in the south bound lanes of Interstate 41 south of Highway 60. The driver of the motorcycle was reported to be laying in the south bound lanes of traffic.

Update Fugitive Captured

Twenty Seven-year-old Dmonte Williams was arrested by the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and a Washington County sheriff’s detective on Thursday morning in the City of Milwaukee without incident. He was wanted by Washington County authorities since December of last year for his alleged involvement in a home invasion robbery in the Village of Richfield last October.

Child Sex Offender

Washington County sheriff’s investigators arrested a 29-year-old man on Tuesday, May 11th on numerous felony child sex offenses after serving a search warrant at his residence in the Town of Germantown.

A 34-year-old City of Milwaukee man remains in custody in the Washington County Jail and is facing charges of 4th offense OWI, OWI causing great bodily harm, fleeing, and 1st degree reckless endangering safety charges after an incident that began in the Town of Polk on May 9th.

4/21/2021 Multi-Vehicle Crashes on I41

WEST BEND, Wis. – Today at 11:13 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center began taking a series of 911 calls from motorists on I41 near CTH D in the Town of Wayne for a multi-vehicle crash involving both passenger vehicles and commercial motor vehicles. Kohslville Fire Department was the lead fire department in this incident, and no major injuries were reported. Substantial traffic delays ensued as several commercial motor vehicles needed to be removed from the traffic lanes and I41 southbound was closed at STH 28.
