NOTICE:

In compliance with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision in Senne v. Village of Palatine, 695F3d597 (7th Circuit, 2012), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (“DPPA”), 18 U.S.C. §2721 et.seq., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is no longer releasing personal information under the DPPA unless it falls under a permissible use. Personal information obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles, including an individual’s date of birth, drivers license number, social security number, home address, telephone number, photograph and medical or disability information is prohibited from disclosure unless one of the permissible uses applies. Permissible uses are listed in 18 U.S.C. 2721 (b).

Plane Crash
07/31/2021
On today’s date at 11:22am the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a plane crash in a corn field west of Cty Tk U south of Arthur Rd in the Town of Hartford. This area is directly west of the Hartford Municipal Airport which is located at 4200 Cty TK U. Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene along with Officers from the Hartford Police Department and personnel from Hartford Fire & Resuce.

Tactical Incident
07/26/2021
A 43-year old Town of Farmington man was charged with several crimes in Washington County Circuit Court on Friday after an overnight tactical incident at his residence on STH 144. Marc Herman was charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct.

House Fire UPDATE

The investigation into a house explosion that occurred on Friday night in the Town of Barton continues. Washington County Sheriff’s investigators are working alongside investigators from the West Bend Fire Department and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation Fire Marshal’s Office.

Car vs Bicycle Crash Case # 21-25163

On Saturday July 24, 2021 at 10:08 am the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch center received a 911 call reporting a bicycle vs vehicle crash with serious injuries on Church Road south of Highway 60 in the Town of Jackson. Jackson Fire Department along with the Jackson Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office were requested to respond to the scene.

On July 23, 2021 at approximately 8:18 pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an explosion and house fire at a single family residence in the 3100 block of Norman Dr in the Town of Barton. The incident was reported by a nearby neighbor.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash

On Friday July 23, 2021 at 6:58 PM the Washington County Dispatch Center was notified of a motorcycle crash on STH 175 in the curve just south of Fork Rd, in the Town of Addison. The caller report that the operator of the motorcycle was in the ditch unconscious.

On Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 2:55 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a barn fire, at 6405 Yellowstone Trail in the Town of Addison, Washington County. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Allenton Fire Department responded to the scene.

On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 3:56 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a house fire, at 3615 Paradise Dr. in the Town of West Bend, Washington County. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies, West Bend Police Officers and the West Bend Fire Department responded to the scene.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash 2021-24440

On Sunday July 18, 2021 at 6:27 pm the Washington County Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a motorcycle vs tree crash in the 4900 block of Hubertus Road in the Village of Richfield. Witnesses reported the motorcycle operator was wearing a helmet but severely injured and began CPR shortly after locating the unconscious driver.

Fatal Accident Hwy 144 at Wallace Lake Rd

Washington County suffered its third fatal accident this morning. At approximately 8:04am the Sheriff’s Office was notified of rollover crash at the intersection of Highway 144 and Wallace Lake Road in the Township of Barton. A caller advised a box truck had struck a car and the driver of the car was breathing, but not conscious. The caller further advised there was a child in a safety seat in the back seat of the car. Squads were dispatched to the scene along with West Bend Fire & Rescue. An off-duty Sheriff’s Deputy came upon the accident scene and determined the driver of the car was agonal breathing and it did not appear that she had been wearing a seatbelt.

Structure Fire
06/19/2021
On Saturday June 19, 2021 at 5:34 am the Washington County Dispatch Center received a hang up 911 call that pinned to the area of Summit Ridge in the Town of Polk. Washington County Deputies were dispatched to the area to check for a possible emergency. Prior to their arrival a second 911 call was received reporting a house fire at 4474 Summit Ridge possibly due to a lighting strike. The Slinger Police Department was requested under mutual aid to respond to assist in evacuating the residence, and the Slinger Fire Department was paged.

Community Notification

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to WI Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense. Further, his criminal history places him in a classification level which reflects a low potential to re-offend.
