||Washington County Highway Department is seeking sealed bids for removal and proper disposal of all asbestos and lead waste in compliance with all local, state and federal guidelines and laws in preparation of demolition of the building.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on March 3, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the demolition site located at the Slinger Highway Shop location, 314 West Washington Street Slinger WI, 53086. Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid meeting is required in order for a firmís bid to be considered. Failure to attend will result in the disqualification of the firmís bid.
Bids shall be prepared in accordance with contract documents prepared for this project by Washington County. Award made for this project will be to a single prime contractor and partial bids will not be accepted.
Prevailing Wage Rates per the State of Wisconsinís Department of Workforce Development Office do apply to this project as set forth in the bid documents.
Bidders interested in bidding this project must submit with their bid evidence of completing three (3) or more projects similar in scope and of at least the same value of work included in this project within the last five (5) years. Contractors and subcontractors technical experience relative to this project may be verified following bid opening.
Bid security shall be by a qualified surety in the form of a bid bond (or certified check) in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount, and shall be submitted with the bid. Failure to submit the required bid security as part of the firmís sealed bid will result in immediate rejection of the firmís bid. Accepted bidders will also be required, as a condition precedent to award of contract, to furnish in the amount of 100% of the contract price, satisfactory Performance/Payment Bond and an acceptable Certificate of Insurance as well.
Washington County reserves the right to waive any informalities or technicalities and to reject any and all bids or parts thereof deemed to be unsatisfactory or not in the Countyís best interest. Furthermore, Washington County reserves the right to cancel any order or contract for failure of the successful bidder to comply with the terms, conditions and specifications of the bid request and/or contract. Washington County reserves the right to award the bid in the aggregate or by item or like item groups (where applicable) to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder who complies with the specifications, service and can meet the requirements of this request.
