Medicine Collection

Help protect Washington County's waterways, prevent accidental poisonings and reduce substance abuse.  This event is an opportunity to properly dispose of expired and/or unused medications. All drugs will be collected by County Health Department Staff and sorted by local pharmacists. Federal Law requires that we immediately surrender controlled drugs to law enforcement for disposal. Controlled substances are disposed of at a federally licensed incinerator.

Accepted Medicine:
Prescription and over-the-counter medications (i.e. pills/capsules, ointments/creams, sprays, inhalers, vials, pet medications)

Do Not Bring:
Illegal drugs, biohazardous material, needles/sharps/epi-pens, personal care products (e.g., soap, lotion, sunscreen), medical equipment

No pre-registration required and participation is unlimited.
